Visited today and successfully charged on CCS connector CH*ONE*E8D0115*001 (right one).

My first charging attempt failed when I tried paying via Twint with the code copy, the payment seems to have succeeded but after returning to the web page it said the charge could not start. On my second attempt I used the Twint intent link on the payment page directly and it worked. But maybe the connector just wasn't plugged in correctly, I also unplugged and re-plugged before re-trying. There's a 40CHF reservation when using Twint. I was refunded the failed charge attempt in the evening.

I noticed this charger in the Swisscharge app since ChargeOne can roam with Swisscharge. It's not on opendata since ChargeOne isn't part of the project.

The roaming title says the location is called SVSA Strassenverkehrsamt Orpund but on the charger and ad-hoc payment page there is no mention of that term except as the small "Standort" property. The branding is all ChargeOne/BKW.

There is a contactless reader but it seems to be off. I tried tapping a card and Google Pay but nothing happened.

The charger is placed to the right of the gate to the DMV, outside of the perimeter. Therefore it can be accessed 24/7 contrary to the AC charger inside of the perimeter.

Unfortunately the parking spaces are very narrow, fitting 2 cars in there is doable but won't be a pleasant experience. It's closed off on 3 of the 4 sides by the fence and there's an additional obstacle on the side where the gate to the DMV is located.

The price is the same (if you round the time), 56ct/kWh + 2ct/min. Reservation is 40CHF.

As already pointed out in my previous report, the parking spots really aren't wide enough. I parked forward because it was easier and I just wanted to check the prices, but if I wanted to charge I would have had to reverse and it's stressful to have to reverse in such a small sport in the middle of the street.

Being one of few fast chargers for Biel I really think AC has nothing to do on this charger, there are enough AC chargers already. And there needs to be an overstay fee. We don't need big SUVs like on my pictures hogging the AC and making it harder to park for those who need the fast charging.

Visited on April 12 and did a short charge with credit card. Everything seemed to still work the same, price and setup. The credit card receipt is now displayed on screen. But the left part is too long, you have to wait to see it scroll to see the bottom.

A Tesla was already charging when I arrived and I noticed a significant impact on their charge. They were only charging at 81kW, but when I authorized my card, their session tanked to _25kW and took a few minutes to stabilize back to 75kW. Alpitronic must be balancing the load across the 2x75kW modules when you are alone, and it doesn't seem able to quickly shift the load to a single module. Their charge then indicated 74/75kW on screen, so they were likely maxing the remaining module. I had no issue charging at 65kW on the second module at the same time.

Based on this power dynamic, the message on the screen and the fact all LEDs were blue while charging, this confirms there are only 2 power modules and only 2 DC bus available. CHAdeMO cannot be used when both CCS are already in use. But AC was still available on the screen, so it should be possible to charge a third car if you find somewhere to park it.
