Visited yesterday without charging.
There are lots of chargers here, but most are for internal use only.
The original was the EVite charger with the 2 green parking spots that I photographed back in January 2022. I found a reference back in June 2014 when a member of the TFF-Forum shared pictures and experience https://tff-forum.de/t/schweizer-schnellade-infrastruktur/3025/48 At the time the spots were not yet painted and only the DC connectors worked.
The charger is/was labelled as 50kW but I actually wonder if that was ever true. The TFF contributor says they only got 20kW, and I verified the sticker yesterday, it's a Terra 23, not 53. Per the sticker, it's limited to 50A and 20kW on the DC connectors. Yet, the screen shows 50kW next to the choice of DC connectors. Was it later upgraded internally from 20 to 50kW? If it's really limited to 20kW it seems a bit odd to keep it around with the number of newer ABB 24kW DC chargers they have around, I guess they really want to use it until it dies.
The EVite charger shows up on the new autoSense backend but as out of service. The charger no longer has any QR code and a sign on it says it's now being reserved for internal use only. But they haven't removed the other stickers that say the charge is paid and you must scan the non-existent QR codes, or the large EVite sign max 1h.
The new "public" chargers are near the entrance, but I didn't see them immediately because another row of vehicles blocks the view. Maybe when you're in an e-tron you can see above those cars, but in the Tesla I was too low to the ground 😂 When exiting the main road at the Migrol gas station, instead of turning immediately right in the first row, drive a bit further and enter the second row. The chargers are right there.
These new chargers have the ChargeOn QR codes. There's also an additional sign saying it's only possible to charge with the Helion or AMAG card/apps at the moment. I do see these chargers in the MOVE app, but have not tried yet if it works.
They installed some private AC chargers right inbetween the fast chargers. I hope they are not planning to park their cars on the blue spots while AC charging...
If you arrive in Bern from the north on route 6, you need to go down to the underground roundabout of the Wankdorfplatz, you are not allowed to turn right onto the Winkelriedstrasse overground.
