Double trouble in Switzerland 👀
Double Disco Ball ON for our newest Swiss stations, Gurbrü and Wileroltigen! 🪩🇨🇭🪩
These twin charging canopies can be found on either side of the A1 with 2 chargers and up to 400kW of charging power 💪🔋
I confirmed that both chargers in Wileroltigen are HYC_400, but their own app and all roaming apps list them at 300kW, so are they not fully equipped yet, like Electra? Who will be the first to put true 400kW chargers in service in Switzerland?
There are some signage issues. Did someone blindly add the EV sign below the truck&caravan sign, without realizing the truck&caravan can no longer drive through here now that the station has been built? While I was there to take pictures, people were constantly turning into the charging station, only to realize the road didn't actually lead to the caravan area.
It seems like both trucks and caravans need to go through the checkpoint which is a hundred meters before the bad signs. The security staff added in 2020 is still here. It seems like they are doing more than just manning the gate, but also patrolling the area.
I saw someone mention truck charging under the post on X, but I really don't think this will work well here. There's not enough space to maneuver with a trailer, as you need a sharp right to enter the station, sharp left to leave, and then another right turn around the toilets to exit the rest stop. There's curbs and barriers all around the station, so there's no shortcut and the access is only car-sized.
