There have been changes to the selection of hardware. The change appears to have been made on 2024-09-13. Was it done this week specifically because the temporary closure of Oftringen might lead more traffic here?
The Kempower (that no longer worked) has been removed. In its place is an Alpitronic HYC_400. It's painted blue but doesn't have any sticker on it. The max power is not written on it. When it was first visible in ChargeAssist app it was listed as 400kW, then changed to 300kW. So I guess they only have 3 out of the 4 modules inside.
Charger 1 has been replaced with an ABB TDC400. It doesn't have any sticker (unlike the one in Zürich that has the GOFAST logo on the back). The max power of 400kW is displayed in large font at the top of the screen.
When I tried the new ABB charger, there was first an issue with my Tesla CCS adapter not being properly fitted, but after I pushed it back in the charge port the charge just started, without asking for any RFID or contactless. So I guess it's temporarily free? There is a contactless reader, it's a different brand than the readers on their other chargers. The reader just says to plug in car first, and permanently says that, it didn't change after the car was plugged then charging.
The UI looks nice, but some things didn't seem to work as intended. The minute counter said zero during my entire session. Then after I stopped the session the screen was frozen on the "unplug cable" screen. I put the cable back in the holder, but there was no way to exit that screen. The language selector was still working.
On the screen of the new ABB there's a QR code to answer a feedback form about this "beta" version of the charger. The link points to an ABB website, not GOFAST. So I guess it's not just GOFAST trialing this new model, it must also be one of the very first distributed by ABB. I saw this charger being showcased in the US in one of the Out of Spec Motoring videos recently, I don't know if US or EU got it first. The survey just asks for experience out of 5, then an optional text comment.
I checked the contactless readers on both Hyperchargers, they offer 59ct/kWh, as expected.
The logo on the west side is still off at midnight. GOFAST had told me it was intentional, to reduce annoyance for neighbors. There's no building in the immediate vicinity, but I guess it's very bright.
