Visited yesterday and did a short charge via QR code / Twint.
When I arrived, a van was charging next to me and I didn't even realize the charging station had been upgraded from 4 to 6 spots. The new charger is actually the first on the right, the one I was connected to. I don't think the site was planned for expansion originally, they had to dig and re-pave. The new spots are slightly sticking out, because they made them the same depth but the pavement is a bit further out. I think they might have planned space for a fourth charger now, but there was a car parked there when I arrived and I forgot to take a closeup picture. It looks like there might be one more opening in the floor in the background in my pictures.
The leftmost charger indicated unknown status in MOVE app between 2024-05-02 and 2024-06-24. The new 300kW charger was visible starting 2024-05-21, so I assumed they had replaced it. Only now I realize that it was in fact a new third charger. But I wonder what happened to the left charger during that period, was it working or not? I'll need to ask Socar.
The max power might be confusing for less experienced drivers. All 3 chargers are HYC_300, but they are all configured with a different number of modules. From left to right we have 225kW (3 modules), 150kW (2 modules) and 300kW (4 modules). The 150kW doesn't have its power written on it. If every charger has 1 user when you arrive, definitely don't pick the one in the middle, you'll have 75kW at most while the others can give you more.
They created a sign in Dutch only, that's pasted on each of the chargers. Translated with the help of Google, it reads something like this:
Welcome
We are happy that you charge your electric car with us.
On the way back you will find more electric charging points on the other side of the highway (Eggberg service area)
[map: you are here, arrow to Eggberg]
We hope you have a nice holiday and see you soon.
The SOCAR Switzerland Team
I guess they know who their customers are, to not even make the sign in English. And sure enough, as I was leaving, a car with NL plates pulled in 😂
