Visited on August 2nd, and tried one of each charger in the 2 car sections. Everything seems to be working.
All chargers are Alpitronic HYC_400.
There are 3 different charging areas:
1. Gas pumps / canopy / pull-through
The first spaces you see when arriving. 4 charging spots labelled 400kW, chargers numbers 1 and 2.
The configuration is pull-through. If you have a trailer it would be best to use charger 1, the first one, so that you don't block other charging spaces with the trailer.
There is is not a lot of extra space on the left, so if the gas pumps are occupied and you're trying to leave 1A, you might need to reverse when 2A is occupied. Similar if 2A is the only available space, you might need to drive around via the right, then back into the charging spot. But if everyone parks close to the pumps and chargers I think you can squeeze by.
These spaces are the only ones with a height limit, but it's a generous 3m so should be no factor for most customers.
2. eTruck
The other space you can see from the entrance is the very long green space for charger number 3.
The charger has the eTruck branding and I believe it's the first SOCAR charger to have a legally binding truck+bus sign next to it, so you're never supposed to use this one, even for car with trailer.
The charger has 2 connectors, but you cannot reach 2 vehicles unless double-parking in the middle of the exit lane. I guess the main purpose here is redundancy, but you could also dual-gun compatible trucks and buses.
They installed the cable management but the left is already broken. The cables seem to be longer than usual, so even with the arm the cable still drags on the floor. I wonder if you can actually reach the charge port of all trucks and buses with this charger position. The arm would be another reason to have 2 cables, as it limits your reach to mostly a single side, so you probably need to pick the one matching your charge port side.
The screensaver advertised the usual 0.75CHF/kWh, but when selecting contactless on the screen the charger was showing it was currently configured for 0.50CHF/kWh, and 100CHF reservation. It's the only charger here with this price. All the car chargers have the regular high price.
3. Behind building
Chargers numbers 4 to 7 are in the car parking area behind the building. There are currently no directions indicating that there are chargers here, and you cannot see them from the entrance.
If you follow the arrows exactly, chargers 4 and 5 can only be accessed from the right, while 6 and 7 can be accessed from either left or right.
Access via the right is also limited to 3m height limit. But if you enter from the left there doesn't seem to be any limit (yet?)
These chargers are labelled 180kW in the MOVE system. On location it's the now usual 200kW branding, and based on the hardware this should be the expected power (2 out of 4 power modules installed in HYC_400).
I expected multiple potential issues with the fact not all chargers can be seen at once, and the fact the faster chargers are the more prominently visible:
- Cars might queue for the pull-through chargers, not realizing there are more charging spaces.
- Slow charging cars will use the faster chargers first, leaving customers with actual fast charging cars with a choice between waiting or using a "slow" charger.
- Whether forced to use the "slow" chargers because of high usage or because you made the wrong choice at the fork, you cannot get back to the 400kW even if they free up.
What would be extremely helpful to optimize this setup is a display at the entrance near the 400kW showing a map of the occupied spaces on both sides, ideally even with the SoC and/or power, so you can get an idea of the wait time.
Because the station opened so late in the summer, we probably won't see any kind of crazy occupation rate until December at the earliest.
On my pictures we see many cars parked in the lane bordering the freeway, but it seems like this area is intended for trucks, and that's the only strip they will have. There's one sign with I believe a truck symbol near the beginning of the row, right in front of some of the cars parked there. Shop customers have a few spots right in front of Migrolino, and after that should ideally go behind the building in the regular car parking and not block the gas pumps or chargers. There will probably be a combined sign telling car parking + more chargers to go via the right, currently missing.
At the time everything was still marked as closed on Google Maps and I couldn't find anything on SOCAR website either. On location everything seemed open: gas, chargers, Migrolino, Burger King. Today it seems like Migrolino and SOCAR show open again.
The toilets are down a flight of stairs. 1CHF. I didn't take close enough look for closing hours. They are probably written in white on the glass on the door. Migrolino have closing times on Google Maps so the building probably closes along with the toilets.
